
CINQUE NORTHERN
is an Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning director, writer, and editor with over two decades of experience in documentary film. He is passionate about the intersection of cinematic artistry and social impact and is drawn to stories that push visual and cultural boundaries.
WORK
Cinque recently directed Angola Do You Hear Us? (MTV Documentary Films) which was shortlisted for an Academy Award and nominated for a Critics Choice award. He also co-wrote, field directed, and was an editor on the Emmy-nominated The One and Only Dick Gregory (Showtime) executive produced by Kevin Hart and Lena Waithe. Cinque edited and co-wrote the critically acclaimed My Name is Pauli Murray (AmazonStudios) with Academy Award-nominated directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen. He was also co-editor on Descendant (Netflix, Higher Ground) which was shortlisted for an Academy Award. Cinque holds an MFA in filmmaking from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is currently a Concordia Fellowship recipient.
