CINQUE NORTHERN
is an Emmy-nominated, Peabody award-winning director and writer with over twenty years of experience as a documentary editor. He's passionate about the intersection of cinematic artistry and social impact. As a fourth-generation artist, he's drawn to pushing visual and cultural boundaries. Cinque is currently developing a feature film.
WORK
Cinque recently directed and edited Angola Do You Hear Us? (MTV Documentary Films) which was shortlisted for an Academy Award and nominated for a Critics Choice award. He also co-wrote, field directed, and was an editor on the Emmy-nominated The One and Only Dick Gregory (Showtime) executive produced by Kevin Hart and Lena Waithe. Cinque edited and co-wrote the critically acclaimed My Name is Pauli Murray (AmazonStudios) with Academy Award-nominated directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen. He was also co-editor on Descendant (Netflix, Higher Ground) which was shortlisted for an Academy Award. Cinque holds an MFA in filmmaking from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is currently a Concordia Fellowship recipient.
